Mortars - Free Film Screening plus Q & A - Special Event for Refugee Week 2015
The Fairfield City Museum and Gallery is excited to host a free screening of feature film, MORTARS on Friday 19 June at 6:00pm.

The film, MORTARS, written and directed by Iqbal Barkat of Filigree Films is part documentary, part fiction and tells a tale embedded in Western Sydney with universal themes.

Fighting a lifelong battle for compensation for her crumbling house, an elderly woman finds a young refugee living on her doorstep. Can she trust him with her safety? Can he trust her with his?

The film will be screened as part of Fairfield City’s Refugee Week celebrations.

Following the screening a Q&A will be held with the filmmakers: Iqbal Barkat, his longtime collaborator and cinematographer Vincent Tay, and producer Natalie Oliver.
Special guest on the Q&A panel will be Dr. Eman Sharobeem, CEO of the Immigrant Women’s Health Service.

Bookings are encouraged by 15 June for catering purposes.
