Arab Council Australia 2025 AGM and Election of the Board

Arab Council Australia (ACA) successfully held its 2025 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 26 November 2025, marking an important organisational milestone as the first AGM conducted under ACA’s new status as a Company Limited by Guarantee.

The meeting was chaired by community leader Rathana Chea and brought together members, partners and supporters to reflect on the year’s achievements, strengthen governance foundations and set a clear direction for the years ahead.

The highlight was the official launch of Council’s 2026 to 2030 Strategic Plan, presented by CEO Hassan Moussa and strategist Reem Borrows. The plan provides a refreshed vision, mission and values framework and positions ACA to respond proactively to community needs and build a stronger organisation.

The AGM introduced ACA’s Community Driven Climate Action Plan, presented by Board Member Zizi Charida and Project Coordinator Bud Moses. The plan is based on community workshops, shared insights and open conversations.

Members also heard an update on the establishment of the Arab Youth Network, a new initiative designed to support connection, leadership and civic participation among young people.

Returning Officer, Ms Sophia Nasser, conducted the election of Directors in accordance with ACA’s revised Constitution.
