Arab Council Australia (ACA) expresses deep concern over the humanitarian crisis unfolding across Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, and the broader region. Escalating war is inflicting profound suffering, widespread displacement, and devastating loss of civilian life, while fundamental principles of international humanitarian law are being systematically violated.
This catastrophic brutality is also causing immense pain and severe anxiety for Australians with immediate family in the affected regions.
ACA warns that without urgent, coordinated international intervention, the scale of human suffering will continue to intensify. The widespread destruction, mass displacement, and targeting of civilian populations raise serious concerns about breaches of international law, including actions that may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Arab Council Australia calls on the international community to uphold its responsibility to protect civilians and ensure accountability for violations of international law. ACA emphasises the moral and humanitarian imperative for Australia and global leaders to take meaningful and decisive action to halt the violence, alleviate suffering, and pursue justice for all victims.
