Arab Council Australia's 2024 Annual General Meeting

Members and friends,

We would like to invite you to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Arab Council Australia which will be held on Wednesday, 20 November 2024, with arrival and registration from 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

The event will be held on Darug Land at Council’s offices on level 2, 44-46, Mandarin St Fairfield East.

We are pleased to announce that Author, Academic and Human Rights Advocate, Dr Randa Abdul Fattah, will be our guest speaker on the topic “Academic Freedom and the Palestine Exception: the censoring of pro-Palestine and pro-Arab voices from public discourse.”

We are also pleased to announce that former Council Chairperson and National manager, Australian Regions - Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Ms Fatima Ali, will be chairing the AGM and will also present on the topic “Anguish in the Diaspora: Escalation into Lebanon and the impact on community.” In addition, we will be receiving reports about Council’s activities over the past 12 months and electing a new Board.

Mr Joh Maait, Principal Lawyer with Norris Somers Maait Lawyers, will be the returning officer.
